Initially built for the 2012 Olympic Games, London Stadium needed to modernise its legacy security infrastructure to support its evolution into a world-class venue. The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) engaged Ocular to replace its ageing Video Management System (VMS) under a strict three-month deadline.

Despite the challenging timeframe, Ocular delivered a fully integrated Synectics Synergy solution ahead of schedule, enhancing safety and setting the foundation for long-term collaboration across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP).

About the Client

The London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) is responsible for the long-term planning, development, and management of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP). London Stadium, located within the Park, is a significant venue for sport, music, and cultural events, hosting Premier League football, international concerts, and community activities.

The Challenge

LLDC required a complete replacement of the existing VMS supporting the stadium’s CCTV infrastructure. The installation had to be completed between football seasons, with all systems fully operational by the start of the Premier League. This left a tight three-month window to design, install, test,
and commission a new security management solution.

LLDC needed a delivery partner that could provide technical capability, scalable resources, and agile project management to ensure success.

The Solution

Ocular delivered the complete solution within the specified timeframe and deployed a flexible and responsive project team to meet evolving requirements. LLDC approved the implementation two weeks ahead of schedule, allowing the new system to support the first match of the season without issue.
